Tamping Down on the Dust

As a historic drought drives water scarcity throughout the Western US, California farmland could be left to dry up, resulting in everything from dust storms to pest scourges. Dryland farming could offer an alternative path forward, however, holding the tumbleweeds at bay while ultimately helping to replenish the water table.
